Lonny’s Smile Glamp On Success

“The purpose of life is to contribute in some way to making things better.” — Robert F. Kennedy

Tamara Doerksen Lonny's SmileIt isn’t often that I’m gob smacked.

But the level of support that this year’s Lonny’s Smile Glamp On event received was unprecedented.

This was our fifth year – significant in itself because Lonny passed away at the tender age of five. But it was also a transitional year as we looked to extend our reach and build our brand in the community, all in support of sending kids with congenital heart disease to summer camp.

From our passionate army of volunteers who showed heart every day, Ms. Root’s Grade 11 Visual Arts class from Cardinal Newman High School who painted such a meaningful photo booth backdrop, to Camp Oki counselor David Lewis who flew in from Halifax to share his heartfelt story, and everyone in-between who donated time, talent, products, and services to make Glamp On a huge success, thank you for giving with your whole heart. And to our incredible guests, including the Oki parents who shared with me their personal stories about the difference that Lonny’s Smile is making in the lives of kids – their kids – with special hearts, we are so very grateful for your support.

On behalf of Lonny’s Smile, thanks for being a special part of Glamp On. I look forward to staying connected. and we can’t wait to see you next year!
