On October 17th 2013, suddenly and sadly we lost Lonny’s Dad, our Dad, and one of our greatest Lonny’s Smile fans – Hardy G. Doerksen. The launch of Lonny’s Smile in 2010 was one of Dad’s happiest moments, and he marked the occasion by building a small replica of Lonny’s trike which is proudly displayed
On August 21, 2013, Lonny’s Smile went to SickKids Hospital to present the proceeds raised through our fundraising efforts to Camp Oki. Since then, we also presented a trike donated by Jeff Slater to the Cardiac Unit Playroom!
The June 20, 2013 Fish Head Benefit for Lonny’s Smile at the Horseshoe Tavern to benefit Camp Oki was a great success. Over $25,000 was raised to send 25 kids to camp! Our honourary MC for the evening was Murray Foster, member of Great Big Sea and former member of Moxy Fruvous. Photos
